So I get home from a long day at work. I’m super hungry because I didn’t have lunch. Figured I’d call up Weezy and see if he wanted to roll out to Bdubs (BW3’s). When he said he was busy, Dan suggested wings from SportsZone up the block from the house. Wednesdays they have 30cent wings so we figured we couldn’t go wrong.
SportsZone is a local sports bar and restaurant just west of Pilgrim Rd on Mequon road in Germantown. Nothing super flashy, just your typical everyday sports bar. They offer 6 flavors of sauces but we chose Hot BBQ, teriyaki, Hot Buffalo and Bourbon BBQ. Since we live so close we just phoned in our order and picked them up at the drive threw they have around back. Took only around 15 minutes to have our order of 40wings done. Upon getting home and opening up our trays of wings, I was quite disappointed in the size. Probably the smallest wings if come across at any bar/restaurant. It seems like they went next door and got the frozen Roundys wings from Pick n Save and fried them up.

Now to the sauces. The Hot BBQ has very little heat. Basically tasted like they took Sweet Baby Rays Sauce and threw some Tabasco in it. Wasn’t what I was expecting by any means. The Teriyaki had a little bit if sweetness but was basically flavorless. The Bourbon BBQ was on the same level with very little flavor. The Hot Buffalo was OK and I say that with the hand gestures and rolling eye movements to go along with it. It had some flavor but nothing that was outstanding or even mentionable in any way if I wasn’t writing a review.
SportsZone……. Yeah ummm. I’m just going to say that they FAIL in the wing department. I can make better wings in my backyard with my deep fryer. I would probably be angry if I had to pay more than the $13 I did.

PS. I epically fail with pictures since I didn’t notice I didn’t have a memory card in my camera.

could have told you that. not to mention the owners are the biggest f’n d-bags i’ve ever met. i refuse to go in that place because of Jim. and i can’t wait for the place to go under so someone else can step in. it could be a really cool place but the owners ruin the shit out of it.

I hate when I go to a place for wings and they are medicore. One of the wing places here has 30 cent wings, but they are a bit on the tasteless side, having no real flavor to the meat and the sauce being only a bit more than passable. To top things off they went from 35 cent to 30 cent and dropped in size. I had to order 20 (they also no longer allowed orders of 5) to get the same effect as when I order 10. Needless to say I have not went back.
